Rachel Radford
Rachel Radford came to hair by way of graphic design and illustration, and has spent more than 20 years in the industry, from New York Fashion Week and editorial sets to coaching dozens of salon owners. She opened Ceremony Salon in Carrboro in 2014 to elevate what it means to be a hairstylist and the responsibility stylists have to their clients. The Darling, her second salon, carries that mission forward.

Kathryn Hills
Kathryn Hills is the lead stylist and color educator at The Darling. A Wella Master Color Expert since 2019, she specializes in natural looking, dimensional color created with hand painting, color melting, and balayage, and she never stops learning.
Kathryn loves helping clients embrace their natural texture, whether curly, straight, or anywhere in between, and offers extensions for those who want something a little extra. She teaches color at both Ceremony Salon and The Darling.
Lead Stylist : Color Educator
Molly is a haircutting specialist with nine years of experience behind the chair and a particular love for precision cutting, short styles, and curly hair. She trained and worked in New York City before making the move to North Carolina. With a background in technical and geometric cutting methods, she has a strong eye for shape, detail, and natural texture. Her approach is thoughtful and personal, with an emphasis on creating hair that works for the person wearing it.
She is currently taking appointments at both The Darling and our sister salon, Ceremony Salon in Carrboro. If you don’t see a time that works at this location, check our Carrboro location.

Haircutting SpecialistHolly Millar White is a haircutting specialist with 17 years of experience, built in salons across North Carolina and rooted in training at the Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill.
For Holly, a haircut is about more than hair. Every appointment is a chance for self care, self expression, and renewal. She pairs thoughtful consultation with expert technique to give each client a style that reflects who they are and fits their life. With extensive training in head spa techniques, she turns every shampoo into a deeply relaxing experience.

Jeri Oakley Hamilton is The Darling’s person for alternative cuts, vivids, balayage, and long hair done right. Committed to ongoing education, she has a gift for making people feel safe and understood in the chair, whatever they walk in wanting.
Sage Lowery has spent about five years behind the chair. She loves lived in cuts with plenty of texture, tailored to every hair type. Creating something new every day is her passion, and her razor and film camera are her favorite tools.

Max Balcom is a haircutting specialist whose style pulls heavily from anime, video games, and other character driven looks. Whether you bring in a specific reference or just the energy of something you love, Max is great at translating it into a cut that works in real life.
Their approach is collaborative and low pressure, with a focus on a result that fits not only your aesthetic, but your lifestyle too. When they’re not behind the chair, you’ll find Max out with their film camera or at a local show.
